Inclusive research on media representation of people with disabilities

A survey on the media representation of people with disabilities across the DACH region shows that most of them feel invisible or stereotyped in the media.

Partner: Open Inclusion

Need: To contribute to a global study aiming to improve how people with disabilities are represented in media - and to ensure the DACH region was included through a representative and demographically diverse panel.

Approach: We led the recruitment of 100 participants across disability types, gender and country of origin. We designed and executed a 25-minute survey within a one-month timeframe to meet global reporting deadlines.

Outcome: The DACH-specific insights fed into a global report presented to senior leaders at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The study found that people with disabilities feel largely invisible or stereotyped in the media: only 1 in 5 saw authentic portrayals reflecting their lives.

«EnableMe was able to recruit a considerable number of respondents. We greatly appreciated this commitment and professionalism.»
